Backstory

A career in the creative industry was a close second to my primary childhood dream of becoming the Pink Power Ranger.

When that didn’t pan out, I learned design and studied art history at UVA, eventually launching my career at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. In my first job at the member services desk, I loved asking guests for feedback on their experiences as they left exhibitions. I’d later take notes as to how I thought their issues could be improved, and would try (often in vain) to pawn them off to senior leaders as they walked by on their way to the free coffee.

From the beginning, I was fired up to make the things around me better and eventually decided to make it my life’s work. My fascination with solving complex problems and creating new-to-the-world experiences led me to pursue my Master’s in Business/ Experience Design at the VCU Brandcenter, where I graduated in 2019.

Currently, I’m honing my craft as a Strategist at Zeus Jones in Minneapolis.

The Stuff I Love

When I’m not working, I’m probably…

1. Getting lost with my dog My perfect day would be spent outside– running, kayaking, riding a bike, or pretty much any adventure with my dog, Berkeley.

2. Fangirling at museums I’m a shameless art history nerd and love badass female artists, like Sally Mann. The first thing I do in any new city is scout out the art museums.

3. Appreciating my roots Two strong Southern women raised me to be the person I am. I lost them both in the past 4 years, but I carry their spirits with me 24/7.

4. Holding bouquets I was in three different best friends’ weddings this year, and attended 4 more on top of that.

The Work I Love

As a hybrid experience designer and strategist, I work between the scales of “thinker” and “doer.”

The “doer” in me is highly proficient in digital, physical product, service, and environments design, while the the “thinker” is passionately committed to research and strategy to ensure that my work is not only beautiful, but deeply grounded in insight.

Above all, I love creating ideas and solutions that make people’s everyday lives better.
